![]() The first area before the ruins themselves is quite small. For now, just go to the fort in the southeast and continue on your way to the Ruins. There are a bunch of side quests that you can get or continue here - refer to the optional quests below for more details. Keep going south to enter the Fort Ilkard area. The Elk Tribesmen are really tough to kill, and even more so when in groups. Go south through the little area that follows, but do it slowly. Leave Beorunna's Well via the southern exit. Return to Aarin Gend and give him the Word of Power for a small reward. Haedraline teleports in and will offer some words of advice and warning. Open the now unlocked chest to get the Word of Power. If you can stay out of the range of this attack, all he can do is used melee attacks, which can be countered with a high AC anyways.Īfter about 400 points of damage the dragon will fall. The only other suggestions that I can give you are to keep to his sides, so as to avoid his breath weapon. If you do, just pop one in your mouth when you hit 25% health and you should have no problems tanking this one out. No matter which way you plan on killing the dragon you should make sure that you have at least four or five Heal Potions on hand. Showing the repaired and enchanted amulet to Winter Fang supposedly damages him and reduces both his AC and his SR. I was hostile to the dryad's ever since I entered the Snow Globe, so I wasn't able to have her enchant it. Have him repair the amulet and then have Arwyl (northeastern corner) enchant it. Leave the cave and talk to Hodd in the northwestern corner. Enter the dragon's cave and get the broken Amulet of the Ages. I never got a chance to talk to Arwyl (the head Dryad), so I wasn't able to use the easy way. I managed to do the dragon solo on my first try (stupid immunity to Sneak Attacks!), but I will outline the easy way here, as it is more rewarding. ![]() Ultimately, you will have to kill a dragon here, but there are two ways to do it - an easy way (get help from the warring factions), or a hard way (do it solo). There is a war going on between immortal dwarves and dryads, and it is your job to stop it. Touching the globe will transport you to the world that is inside of it. Rest awhile and then go up and touch it to continue on with the quest. She will place it on its stand in her bedroom. Go through the door, kill the Huge Fire Elemental and grab the Snow Globe from the pedestal. Hit the gongs in the following order - cat, dog, bear, dragon - to open the door. Ask it to free Nax, even though he is no help whatsoever.Īfter the summoning head to the northwestern room with the four gongs. Cast Melf's Acid Arrow (via actual spell or the ring) to summon a water elemental. Go to the southwestern room with the pool and place the tongue into it. Pick up the Slaad Tongue from the room just outside the lab (I think it is in there, if not you can find one in here - in any case, you should have several left over from earlier). Make one of these fun staves, if you can. Grab the Ring of Melf and take a look at the instructions for making a Staff of Command. Go to the north and break into the lab there. He explains his plight to you and then sends you on his way. Go to the south and then the east to find Nax locked up in a prison. Take Daelan with to deal with those pesky elementals. If you survive solely by sneaking around, you will have a tough time here. This dungeon is full of stupid elementals. The scroll will allow you to teleport to the Wizard's Lab, your goal for this part of the quest. Just head to the northeastern teleportation circle. In this second Coldwood area you will have to fight some cultists, amongst other things. Head north to the Coldwood and fight through the swarms of orcs to get to the northeastern zone wall. She does know where he is and gives you a Teleport Scroll to help you catch up to him. It was stolen from her by a wizard named Nax. Go to the southeasternmost building and talk to Lillian inside. ![]() He will redirect you to Lillian in The Drinking House. All of these locations are on the in-game map, so I see no need to reprint one here. Your old henchmen are all available in Aarin Gend's Lodge and you can always get healing at the local Temple of Tyr. The item creation continues in the Many-Starred Cloak Enclave with the same system as chapter 2 (there are five more books to find - listed below). In the Trading Post you can forge weapons just like in chapter 1, but the ones you make here are much more powerful (and much more costly). There are many services available here in town. The henchmen quests continue here, and you should be able to find some more optional quests. You'll be in extremely hostile territory for the duration of the game, so you will always have to be on your toes. = Chapter 1 Chapter 2.1 Chapter 2.2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4This chapter will lead you on the merry chase for three powerful artifacts.
